Mubarak Wakaso scored two goals for Ghana against Cape Verde. The four time champion Black Stars, were lucky to keep a clean sheet against the Blue Sharks.  Ghana had the bulk of possession, but the intent was with the new comers. It was only the performance of goalkeeper, Fatau Duada that ensured Ghana a clean sheet.

The first goal was a contentious penalty on Ghana Captain Gyan. Wakaso made no mistake and drilled it down the middle past Vozinha. The penalty only spurred on the more spirited Cape Verde side but at a cost. They gambled everything on a corner kick in the 78th minute. Wakaso latched on the resulting clearance and finished in an empty net.

Ghana will have to improve if the hop to get past the semi-finals. They wait for tomorrows match between Burkina Faso and Togo to find out their next opponents.
